New Addition to the Family

As many of you know, we have a new addition to the family.... we finally got a ski boat! Along with Todd & Tonya, we went in together and bought a 18 & 1/2 foot 2003 Bayliner 185 Runabout. It's in great shape and has a booming stereo system! We absolutely love it and plan on spending lots of time on it this summer!

Lilac Parade

Last night was the Lilac Parade in Downtown Spokane (for those that don't live here!). All three of us love a good parade, esp the Lilac Parade. It's held at night, so it always seems a little more festive. It was a fun time (although we were still recuperating from the previous day's Carnival!). And once again, thanks to our "partners in crime," Margo, Joe & boys, for joining us and helping make it a great event! **check out the bubble pix w/A- it's right in front of his eye... weird!...**

Carnival Fun

Holy Moly- Friday evening was Austin's annual school Carnival. (Being on the PTO Board, I'm one of four that organized it, so this has been a long time coming :)) The weather was absolutely perfect and we had a HUGE turnout! We had a car show (new this year with 51 cars!), a DJ, hot dogs/pizza/cotton candy/popcorn, an auction and of course tons of games for the kids to play and win prizes. It was a wonderful time and I think all the kids had loads of fun (as well as the adults-check out some of the cool cars that were there!).**A special thank you to Trav for working his butt off to help pull this off. He spent many hours helping plan, setup and clean up!**

Mother's Day at the Park

Today, Margo & family were nice enough to invite Austin & me to Riverfront Park for a fun day out (Trav was working a double). So we met them downtown and walked around, rode the Carousel, played with bubbles, had some ice cream and just plain enjoyed the nice weather! Thanks guys for a fun day (and of course great photo op!)!

May Flowers??

Since today's weather was so nice, we decided to do some work outside after the parade & my wedding. While I did some touch up painting, Austin & Travis planted the garden. We hope to see some sunflowers, veggies and pumpkins before too long!

Jr Lilac Parade

Today was the Junior Lilac Parade in Downtown Spokane! Austin's Cub Scout Pack was able to be a part of it, along with the rest of the CS District. It was beautiful weather for a parade! As you can see, some got more "into it" than others! Austin had a blast; he loved being able to hand out candy to the parade watchers.

Kite Flying

Since it was pretty windy today, we decided to do some kite flying after Austin's fishing. Up, up & away!

Fishing at Clear Lake

This morning was the annual Fishing Derby for Austin's Cub Scouts, held at Clear Lake. They divide all the participants into 1 hour blocks and the kids are able to catch up to three fish in that time period. They stock the lake specifically for the event and put up nets to keep them close. It was tons of fun. Austin caught two fish (Rainbow Trout) this year. Since we don't exactly want to cook them at home, there was a truck set up taking them as donations for the food banks. Austin sure loves to fish; he probably would have stayed there all day if they would let him! Too bad he can't go Salmon fishing with Trav when we go to the coast this summer!
