This last Friday was the first day of the annual Julyamsh Pow Wow in Post Falls. Apparently, it's the largest outdoor Pow Wow in the Northwest. The three of us had never been to one, and with Austin learning about Native Americans in school and at his Day Camp, we thought we'd go and see what one was like. We brought along Austin's friend, Blake and the Keeneys also joined us. I'm really glad we went because it was awesome! There were booths set up selling crafts, some critters to look at, a play area for the kids with some neat slides, food vendors, a horse parade, and of course the Pow Wow itself. There were so many Native Americans there in their beautiful regalia! The colors alone were breathtaking. Once they all entered the arena for the group dance, it was mind blowing. It was like a whirlwind of colors and movement. Absolutely gorgeous!! And even children as young as babies were participating. What a wonderful event. My pictures don't capture the true beauty that was there. I highly recommend those who haven't been.... to go (next year's is July 23rd-25th)! We were there for over four hours and didn't want to leave, b/c we wanted to see more!
Garrett was not too sure about this new looking "kitty!!"
We had a lot of fun too, thanks for the invite. We should definatly go next year.
