Camping at Big Creek

After much arm-twisting (lol), the Kaisers convinced us to join them camping at Big Creek, Idaho which feeds into the St Joe and is just outside St Maries. Austin and I were there for 7 days, but Trav had to work his normal schedule, do he was only there for 2. What a blast we had! Definitely one of the funnest times we've had camping! Thanks so much guys for an awesome week! Same time next year????

Home, sweet, home
Playing some European Rugby
James
Kailey, Mikayla, Emily

Too slow Trav!
Once again, too slow!
Apparently James found something a little funny?
Ahhh, he got one!

For the first two mornings, we woke up to some bada** thunder, lightning and rain! But luckily it would only last a few hours and then turn warm & beautiful.
Look at those nasty hands!

Jamie and Em playing my new fav game, Farkle.
James teaching Fishing 101
Raindrop
Austin getting some last minute pointers
Fathers & Sons

Brenden tying his fly or something fishy like that
Nice shorts babe!

Getting ready to cast further down the creek
James keeping an eye on things
This is the part we had to cross each time to get to the "pond." Cold, but so worth it!

No, that's not Seinka reduced to a 10th his size, that's the Kaisers' Mini!
Doing some remodeling to make a "tube chute"
Kailey channeling her inner mermaid

Trav channeling his inner Brad Pitt?

I just happened to look up and catch Austin helping Em across the creek. What a gentleman!

The chute works!
A cool tunnel on the way to Avery, ID
The booming metropolis of Avery
Checking out the fish "pond"
Butterflies were everywhere
Austin getting locked up

The sign was posted on the road to our campsite, too funny!
Some flowers that A picked for me

I believe those are Mikayla's feet!

Bren catching.... something
Skipping rocks before Trav had to take off

Once Em saw Kailey's pix, she had to do one too!
And of course James wasn't to be outdone!
One of Bren's "catches"
Seinka looking for some shade. Too bad the darn dog won't swim!

Funny story... one morning James went to start his truck, only it wouldn't start (found out later it was the battery). So he lifted the hood and this is what was there! We'd noticed that morning our papertowels had some nibbles taken out, we just thought something got a little hungry. Nope, a momma mouse was making a nest and then giving birth to 4 little ones! You can see the pink babies in the hole of the nest. Too cute!
It was finally decided to just leave the hood a little open, hoping that momma would move her nest to a safer place. More pix to come on how that went!
A showing the girls how it's done
The tubes were def. the hit of the week. On the last day, Jamie, James, Mikayla and I even took our fancier ones and floated down 4 miles of the St Joe (while Jamie's parents were nice enough to watch all the kiddos). It was tied for my fav part of the week!

Look what Em caught!

"Camp Greene and Kaiser" (and Hubbard and Presta!)

I wouldn't be doing that dental work without masks girls!

Isn't this a cool, old house!?
A (not THE) waterfall
You know you're in redneck country when all the traffic signs have bullet holes in them (and the porta-potty windows too!)!
Nice! The boys did some BB shooting during one of us girls' trips to St Maries
Our official scorekeeper. Talk about a math wiz!

Nice catch A! Now put him back!

I swear Mikayla is plotting something!
Playing some Yahtzee with the Hubbards
Squirrel!! Oh wait, I guess a chipmunk! lol
More shooting. This time I had to join in too!

Abriana lining up her shot

This totally looks like a DV moment, but it's not, I swear!!

Bren learning about "Wierd Washington"
Mini on her throne
Some of the boys' finds with Grandpa Dennis' metal detector
The mouse babies! They're totally alive, still suckling and everything!
Aren't they cute???
The runt :(
After giving momma mouse a few days to relocate, she did, but just deeper in the engine! So Mikayla ended up being voted to do some extraction!
James giving the nest a new, safer home
Getting all four!

Abriana displaying the well where we got our water

Rocking out to some "Humpty Dance"
My goodness, look at that kid in the middle!! lol
James' parents arriving with their toys
My other fav part of the trip (driving of course!)

A enjoyed driving.... just a little! heehee
I'm not sure James enjoyed his driving as much, but he was a great sport about it!

"Bovines in the water!"
"What happens in Vegas (St Maries), stays in Vegas (St Maries!)"
Methinks the boy child is a wee bit tired!
