Cub Scout Day Camp

This week was Austin's Day Camp for Cub Scouts. One is held every summer, and every year since he's joined, he's gone and I've been the parent leader for our pack. It's a lot of work and long days, but it's so worth it. Austin has tons of fun every year and believe it or not, I do too! The boys get to do BB shooting, archery, field games, crafts and learn about nature. This year's theme was "Knight and Day," so most of the events were geared toward that. Sadly though, since A is now a Webelos II, this is his last Day Camp... next year will be a resident camp with the Boy Scouts! I thought I'd be off the hook then, but I was told yesterday, they'll still need us parent volunteers! lol

Preparing to post the Colors for the opening ceremony
Jamie was nice enough to help out this year too!

Brenden was our caller

Getting ready to tear up some targets!

Nice Bren, you stinker! :)

A receiving his patch that he earned by getting enough points shot
Time for some battles with their newly made swords & shields!

Andrew-such a goofball!

Our boys didn't like this at all! Yeah right!

Making a banner

Hmmm.....
I was so excited when A picked "helpful" as his fav CS trait. Then he told me it was b/c it was the easiest to spell! Typical!
Shocker.... more fighting!
Enjoying a Popsicle while getting a refresher on whittling
I love this pix of Bren
"Carving" a soap boat

Crazy Tyler!
Now to tear up some more targets! And a poor unsuspecting ogre!
He kept his smile the whole time though... lol
A is def a good shot! He must get that from me :)

Bren's pretty darn good too!
The infamous sponge war. This year I decided to sit it out!
Our "den" flag... we were the Dark Knights (Bren drew the Knight, isn't he talented?!)
Our leaders performing their skit
Our boys doing our den chant: Dark Knights, Dark Knights, Fight, Fight, Fight; Dark Knights, Dark Knights, For The Right! (Thanks Jamie! What would we do w/o those Kaisers??)
Our boys doing our skit: "Two Suckers on a Stick"
Performing the closing ceremony. Our boys were lucky enough to do both the opening and closing on the last day! Jacob was our caller this time.

Uh-oh... I think our Camp Director is gonna get it!!
Yep, she did!
