Danielle's Graduation Weekend

Saturday was our niece, Danielle's, graduation from high school! We headed for Clarkston Friday morning to spend the weekend with her celebrating her graduating as well as her baby shower. We got into town at about 12:30, checked into our hotel (the Keeneys and Nathan were staying in the same hotel) and made some calls. We headed over to Nadine & Ron's to visit and spend some time with them and Tasha and Mark. We then went back to the hotel and Danielle and her boyfriend Houston came over soon after and hung out. The kids and Trav went swimming in the pool while the rest of us chatted and caught up. Once the rest of the Friday arrivers came into town, we all went out to dinner at Tomato Brothers, which was right next to our hotel. At that point, us, the Keeneys, Nathan/Nathaniel/Ailsa, Walt/Katie/Emma/Bella and Danielle/Houston were all together. It was a great day, only to be followed by another great day.... Saturday we got up early and us "Motel 6ers" ate breakfast together, then went on a fun walk along the Snake River. It was a gorgeous morning and we had fun just relaxing and talking. We went back to the hotel, freshened up a little and by then the Saturday arrivers had arrived so we headed across town to Lewiston where they were staying. Mom Greene, the Rigbys and Walt/Katie and the girls were all staying at a (very nice!) Holiday Inn so we hung out there in Mom's room. So by then, we were all there. Nadine and Tasha joined us as well. After visiting for awhile, it was time to head up to Houston's parents' house for Danielle's Graduation BBQ/Baby Shower. So all of us Greenes (that were in town) invaded the Keane family home.... which was beautiful. On about 10 acres in a gorgeous area, it was a perfect setting for a large family celebration. And celebrate we did! We all met Houston's family, who were wonderful and so gracious to us. We had some awesome food, the kids played, then us girls went into the guest house for our own private baby shower for Danielle. She got all kinds of cute things and we had some great girl bonding time. After the festivities wrapped up, we headed back to our hotels to get ready for Danielle's graduation. We all met at Nadine's house and since it was such a beautiful night, we parked there and walked the short distance to her school. It was a wonderful ceremony and we couldn't be prouder of Danielle! She even made the Honor Roll and National Honor Society! By the time we got back to our hotel, us Motel 6ers were pretty hungry, so we made a "midnight" run to Pizza Hut across the street (they were actually closed, but let us in anyways!)! Sunday we had planned to tool around Lewiston since it was Travis' birthday, but once again, Mother Nature had to show us who was boss! It was pouring rain, so we decided to head back to Spokane and celebrate his birthday there (plus he woke up not feeling so good anyways!). All in all, it was a GREAT weekend and it was so nice to spend some time with all the family. And to also get to know Houston's family. Who knows? We might just be related pretty soon! :) Congrats Danielle! We love you soooo much!
